Water Treatment
Proven in the most demanding environment on Earth
A grey-water recycling unit derived from MELiSSA research has operated for years at the Concordia research station in Antarctica, serving a crew of up to 70 people and recycling grey water to hygienic quality, under conditions that leave little room for error. It is a strong reference for grey-water systems at remote sites, resorts, ships and events, and in buildings such as hospitals, offices and schools.

How the Grey Water Treatment Unit works
The Grey Water Treatment Unit (GWTU) is a compact, autonomous membrane cascade: ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and two stages of reverse osmosis. It turns lightly contaminated water from showers, laundry and kitchens into hygienic-quality water, without chemicals and with minimal maintenance.
In validation tests the unit recovered 93 to 95% of incoming grey water, with complete microbial decontamination.
